Pig Milk

About

Pig Milk is a New York City–based rock band born out of love, community, and pure impulse. Founded in 2024 by bassist Jill Pesce and Lexie Viklund, the band began when Lexie gifted Jill a bass guitar after they started dating. Jill had never played an instrument before—but picked it up to impress Lexie. What started as a romantic gesture quickly became something much bigger.

The project formed organically, bringing in Jill’s college friend Mic Zammutto on vocals and guitarist Allegra, whom the band met through a queer volleyball league. With the lineup solidified, Pig Milk began carving out space in the NYC rock scene, rapidly becoming a standout act within the city’s queer and lesbian communities.

The band played their first local shows in the winter of 2025, immediately fostering a cult-like energy. At that very first show, an audience member coined what would become a signature crowd ritual: enthusiastic “oinking” at the end of each song—now a staple of every Pig Milk set.

By June 2025, Pig Milk won Dave’s Lesbian Bar’s Annual Battle of the Bands and headlined their first show at the iconic Baby’s All Right. Momentum continued with the release of their debut single Take You in September 2025. The band is now set to release their follow-up single Breakdown in January 2026, alongside a headlining performance at the NYC staple Mercury Lounge.

Rooted in female-forward rock, Pig Milk draws inspiration from Halestorm, Paramore, The Pretty Reckless, and Joan Jett—channeling raw emotion, big hooks, and unapologetic identity into every release and live show.
