Moselle

About

Moselle grew up in the Ozarks of Arkansas, a place with beautiful, natural landscapes and oppressive, domineering religiosity. After spending some time in Springfield Missouri for school (2020-lockdown-drop-out-club) Mo eventually moved to California and currently resides in Los Angeles.

First inspired as a teen by music from the 60s Folk Revival, Moselle soon added to their pantheon of songwriters from CDs their parents had lying around. Heavy hitters such as Alanis, Fiona and Tori all transmuted pain and rage into their music, which seemed cathartic. As much would prove true when Moselle finally began to write themself, and found the craft highly therapeutic.

When reality checked Moselle at the end of 2022 and they realized they needed to take their alcoholism seriously, songwriting was an outlet for all the complicated emotions that come with one’s journey towards sobriety. During this time they wrote a song called Pesticides about their struggle with substance abuse and found an audience online amongst people who connected with the lyrics. This experience solidified a goal for Moselle: to create art that validates others, equipping them with tools to heal.

Moselle is quite a nerd when it comes to musical theatre and video games, two mediums that provide ample inspiration.
