Ammonite
About
Ammonite is a Washington D.C.-area rock trio where punk urgency meets Americana soul. Fronted by Erin (vocals/guitar), Selena (lead guitar/vocals), and Alyson (drums/vocals), the band is known for soaring three-part harmonies, gritty songwriting, and a boldly queer, political edge that resonates with fans of Sleater-Kinney, The Breeders, Brandi Carlile, and kd Lang.
Rooted in folk storytelling but fired by 90s punk, Ammonite's live shows are vibrant and emotionally charged — audiences move from dancing to tears within a single set. The band regularly amplifies movements for mutual aid, queer liberation, anti-genocide activism, and gender equality, performing at Pride events, grassroots fundraisers, and major regional festivals including the National Cherry Blossom Festival and Takoma Park Folk Festival.
Ammonite has shared the stage with Speedy Ortiz, Crys Matthews, Desert Sharks, and River Shook, and contributed a track to Yesterday and Today: DC Does Dischord alongside Ted Leo, The Dismemberment Plan, and J Robbins — placing them firmly within D.C.'s legendary rock legacy.
With lush melodies, authentic emotion, and music that carries a positive, powerful message, Ammonite stands at the crossroads of indie rock, feminist punk, and queer Americana.
